Kildare Times "Children living in Poverty"

The Kildare Times front page article is about Child Poverty and quotes the CSO measures for poverty as not being able to afford 2 or more of 11 basic things such as heating, good shoes, new clothes or meat.  I expect that many more than those recorded in the last CSO survey are not able to afford 2 or more of the 11 items.  So I consider, are more people living in poverty than realise?  Is it so normalised now that a sub-standard of living is considered normal?  Are you classified as living in poverty but thought you were getting by?
